European Intellectual Property Seminar 2017

October 2 to 6, 2017

We are pleased to invite you to our traditional in-house seminar, now in its 27th year, after having presented similar seminars on European IP in Japan, Korea and China as well as at renowned U.S. universities in the past, most recently at John Marshall Law School, Chicago, and at the University of Texas, Austin.

This Seminar will provide a comprehensive introduction into European IP laws and practice. In view of recent developments and in the light of Brexit, we have added new content and three new presentations. As changes in IP laws are occurring at a faster pace than ever, let us update you on the latest developments in patent, trademark and design practice.

The courses will be held from Monday, October 2 through Friday, October 6, 2017. Furthermore, we invite all attendees to join us for an optional visit to the Oktoberfest on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

All courses will be held in English. Speakers will include Rainer K. Kuhnen, Michael Topf, Christian Thomas, Michael Zeitler, Detlef von Ahsen, Florian Kühbeck, Birgit Reiter, Jan Ksienzyk and James A. Forstner of our firm, as well as additional external guest speakers, i.e. Alexander Gardiner (EPO Examiner), and Martin Schlötelburg (Principal Administrator EUIPO).

The seminar will be limited to 40 participants. The registration fee for this seminar is EUR 1,200 including textbooks, attendance of all courses and social activities. It is also possible to only attend parts of the Seminar – in this case the price for one day is EUR 500, EUR 800 for two days and EUR 900 for three days. Hotel costs are not included.

Accommodation can be arranged through our firm. We provisionally reserved a number of rooms for seminar attendees, however, this provisional reservation can only be guaranteed until August 26, 2017. After this date, we cannot guarantee that the desired category of hotel rooms will still be available. In fact, in view of the Oktoberfest and major industry fairs, no rooms may be available at all in the area without a timely reservation. An early registration is therefore highly recommendable.

To register, please use the online registration form.

Please refer to our brochure for further information and a complete overview of the topics that will be presented. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. We will be glad to assist you.
